April 1, 2026

Dear Parents:

The Technology Department at Edwards Middle School hopes that the laptop we have provided your child has been of great benefit both on and off campus and for personal productivity in school, college and career preparation, and the future in general.  Summer will be here sooner than we realize, so we wanted to share some information to prepare you and your child for laptop collection at the end of the school year.  This is also an excellent time to get these items cleared up before testing so your student can enjoy the best testing experience possible.  Your child should bring his/her laptop to school every day, and we ask that your child is especially mindful of doing so during Milestones Testing.

Tentatively, we have scheduled laptop collection to begin Monday, May 18th.   As we collect laptops, there is a six-digit number on the bottom of the laptop, and it must match the same number on the bag and charger.  Students will be held financially responsible for missing AND/OR mismatched items!  Should we locate the mismatched item later, charges will be removed and/or refunds will be issued.

If your child currently has mismatched equipment, it is likely that it was switched up by accident.  We can assist in locating mismatched equipment, but the sooner we receive notice, the more likely we will succeed.  If you need assistance, or have any other questions about technology, please contact me at nburnfin@rockdale.k12.ga.us.

The following are the prices for lost/mismatched equipment:

Damaged/Lost Case

$10.00

Damaged/Lost Dell Charger

$10.00

Student Damaged/Lost Dell Latitude

Dell Latitude Laptop:  $400.00

Sincerely,
